Saudi Arabia — ZATCA Phase 2

Field service software with ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing for Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia every VAT-registered business must issue e-invoices that connect to ZATCA's FATOORA platform. FieldN files them from the same system that books, dispatches and invoices your jobs.

Quick answer

FieldN has ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing built in. You connect your company once with the OTP from the FATOORA portal; FieldN gets the CSID and runs the compliance checks. After that, an invoice to a business with a VAT number is a standard (B2B) invoice and is cleared by ZATCA before you hand it over; an invoice to a consumer is a simplified (B2C) invoice and is reported after issue. FieldN builds the UBL 2.1 XML, signs it, keeps the hash chain and counter, and stores the signed XML. Read the full rules in our ZATCA Phase 2 guide.

How FieldN handles ZATCA Phase 2

Onboarding with OTP and CSID

Enter the OTP from FATOORA; FieldN creates the CSR, gets the compliance CSID and then the production CSID. Sandbox, simulation and production are kept apart.

B2B cleared before hand-over

Invoices to VAT-registered customers go through clearance; only a cleared invoice should reach the buyer.

B2C reported

Invoices to consumers are reported to ZATCA after issue.

Signed XML and hash chain

UBL 2.1 XML, the cryptographic stamp, the previous-invoice hash and the counter are handled for you, with no gaps after a failed send.

Asked, never surprised

The invoice page asks "Generate e-invoice?" only when the invoice must be filed, because a filed invoice cannot be unsent.

Kept for audits

The signed XML is archived and ZATCA's response, including any errors, is saved with the invoice.

Three apps, one system: a booking portal and app for your customers, a technician app for Android and iPhone, and the office back end for dispatch, contracts, stock, invoices and HR. See all FieldN features.

A Saudi AMC invoice in FieldN

  1. Work done: the quarterly AMC visit for a Riyadh office is completed and signed.
  2. Invoice: the contract invoice is raised with 15% VAT.
  3. Prompt: the customer has a VAT number, so FieldN asks to file a standard (B2B) e-invoice.
  4. Cleared: FieldN signs it and sends it for clearance; ZATCA clears it.
  5. Send: the cleared invoice goes to the customer; the signed XML is archived.

Saudi VAT is 15%. Phase 1 (generation) asked for electronic invoices with a QR code; Phase 2 (integration) connects your system to FATOORA. ZATCA has brought businesses in by waves; Wave 24 covers all VAT payers above SAR 375,000 and closed on 30 June 2026. Standard (B2B) invoices are cleared in real time; simplified (B2C) invoices are reported within 24 hours. Full details, dates and penalties are in our ZATCA e-invoicing Phase 2 guide.

ZATCA e-invoicing — frequently asked questions

Is FieldN ZATCA Phase 2 compliant?

FieldN has ZATCA Phase 2 built in: OTP and CSID onboarding, clearance of standard (B2B) invoices, reporting of simplified (B2C) invoices, UBL 2.1 XML with the cryptographic stamp, and the hash chain.

Does FieldN clear B2B invoices before they go to the customer?

Yes. An invoice to a VAT-registered customer is a standard invoice and is sent for clearance; once cleared it can be handed over.

Do I need a separate e-invoicing app with FieldN?

No. FieldN connects to FATOORA itself, from the same system that books jobs and raises invoices.

Does FieldN file e-invoices automatically?

FieldN asks before filing, on the invoice page, because a filed e-invoice cannot be unsent. It only asks when the invoice must be filed.
