POS software for every device: Windows, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android

Keep the device you have, or buy the one that suits your counter. MC-POS Cloud runs as a native app on Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone and Android — from a phone in a delivery van to a supermarket touch terminal — and every device opens the same business: billing, invoices, stock, purchases, accounting, staff, e-invoicing and AI.

Quick answer

MC-POS Cloud runs on almost every device a shop uses: Windows 10 and 11 PCs, laptops and touch POS terminals; Macs with Apple Silicon or Intel; iPads and iPhones on iOS 16 or newer; Android phones, tablets and Android POS machines on Android 6.0 or newer; and any modern web browser.

It is one business on all of them — a bill made on an Android terminal shows up in the reports on the owner's iPhone and the accountant's Mac. Every app bills with no internet and syncs later. Free to start, then from $36 a year for 2 users.

Windows touch POS terminals

All-in-one touch terminals run Windows, so they run MC-POS. These are the brands we are asked about most — each page lists the models and the printer setup. Other Windows brands, such as Partner Tech, NCR, Diebold Nixdorf, SAM4S or local assemblers, work the same way if the terminal runs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).

Android POS machines

Handheld and counter terminals with a built-in printer, mostly made in China. One page per brand, with the model list and the honest answer about the built-in printer. Start at POS app for Android POS machines.

Every receipt printer must speak ESC/POS, the command set almost all 58 mm and 80 mm thermal printers use. MC-POS does not drive a second customer-facing display or read weighing scales — ask us if you need either.

Which device should you choose?

  • Small shop or kirana, tight budget — an Android tablet and a Bluetooth printer, or a SUNMI terminal with the printer built in.
  • Supermarket or busy counter — a Windows touch POS with a USB scanner, 80 mm printer and cash drawer, using keyboard billing.
  • Restaurant or café — an iPad or Android tablet at the counter, phones for waiters, and a network printer in the kitchen.
  • Van sales and delivery — an iPhone or Android phone with a pocket printer, or a handheld Android POS machine.
  • Boutique, salon or studio — an iPad or a Mac at the front desk.
  • The owner — whatever phone is in your pocket. Sales, cash, dues, stock and AI insights from every till.

Frequently asked questions

Which devices does MC-POS run on?

MC-POS Cloud has native apps for Android (phones, tablets and Android POS terminals), iPhone and iPad, Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), and also runs in a web browser. All of them open the same business.

Can I use Windows, Android and iPad tills in the same shop?

Yes. Every device signs in to the same MC-POS business as its own till, with its own cash drawer and staff login. Stock, prices, customers and reports are shared, and each device keeps billing on its own if the internet drops.

What is the cheapest device to run a POS?

An Android tablet or phone you already own, plus a Bluetooth thermal printer. MC-POS is free to start, so the printer is often the only cost. An Android POS terminal with a built-in printer, such as a SUNMI V2, is the next step up.

Which is better for a POS: iPad or Android tablet?

Both run MC-POS with the same features. Android works with more printers (USB and paired Bluetooth printers) and costs less; the iPad needs a Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi / LAN printer but is a favourite for cafés and boutiques. Pick the one your staff already know.

Do I need special POS hardware?

No. MC-POS runs on normal phones, tablets and computers. Special POS hardware — an all-in-one touch terminal or an Android POS machine with a printer — just makes a busy counter faster and tidier.

Is MC-POS available on Linux or Chromebook?

There is no Linux app. On a Linux PC or a Chromebook, use MC-POS in the web browser at mcpos.mycodlabs.com; Chromebooks with Google Play can also install the Android app.

Which receipt printers work with MC-POS?

Any 58 mm or 80 mm ESC/POS thermal printer. Android: Bluetooth, USB and network. Windows and Mac: USB, Bluetooth and network. iPhone and iPad: Bluetooth LE and network. SUNMI terminals print on their built-in printer with nothing extra.

Does MC-POS work offline on every device?

Yes. The Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac apps keep the shop data on the device, bill with no internet and sync when the connection is back.
