POS software for HP Engage

POS billing software for HP Engage terminals

HP builds the Engage family for retail and hospitality counters — good hardware that arrives with no shop software. MC-POS Cloud fills that gap: billing and tax invoices, orders and KOT, purchases, stock, accounting, staff, e-invoicing and AI, running as a normal Windows app on the Engage and working with no internet.

Quick answer

Yes — MC-POS Cloud runs on HP Engage terminals that run Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit): Engage One, Engage One Pro, Engage Flex Mini, Engage Flex Pro and Engage Go. Install it with the .msi installer (Engage machines usually run Windows IoT Enterprise, without the Microsoft Store) and bill in minutes.

The HP Engage One Prime runs Android, so on that model you install MC-POS Cloud from Google Play instead.

How to install MC-POS on an HP Engage

  1. Install the app. Get MC-POS Cloud from the Microsoft Store, or download the .msi installer from the MC-POS download page. Use the .msi on POS terminals with Windows IoT Enterprise — the Store is usually switched off there.
  2. Create your business. Sign up free inside the app, or on mcpos.mycodlabs.com, and add your products, taxes and outlet.
  3. Pick the printer. Settings → Printers. Pick the receipt printer from the Windows printer list (USB), its COM port (Bluetooth), or type its IP (network).
  4. Start billing. Scan or tap an item, take cash, card, UPI or credit, print or share the bill. The same business opens on every phone, tablet, terminal and computer you add.

MC-POS needs Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (Home, Pro or IoT Enterprise), 4 GB of RAM or more and about 1 GB free disk. It bills with no internet and syncs when the connection is back.

Some HP Engage models run Android (marked in the table below). On those, install MC-POS Cloud from Google Play instead — everything else on this page is the same.

HP Engage models that run MC-POS

HP sells each Engage model in many configurations. What matters for MC-POS is the operating system — Windows 10/11 64-bit or Android.

Model What it is MC-POS on it
HP Engage One All-in-one touch POS Counter billing with touch and a USB scanner
HP Engage One Pro All-in-one touch POS Busy retail counters — fast billing and day-end reports
HP Engage One Pro G2 All-in-one touch POS, 15" or 19" Supermarket and pharmacy lanes
HP Engage One Essential All-in-one touch POS Small shops and cafés
HP Engage Flex Mini Compact POS PC Behind a touch monitor — tidy counter, keyboard billing
HP Engage Flex Mini G2 Compact POS PC Back office and counter in one small box
HP Engage Flex Pro POS PC Multi-lane retail with printer, drawer and scanner
HP Engage Go Mobile POS tablet (13.5") Line-busting and table-side billing
HP Engage One Prime All-in-one POS, Android Install MC-POS Cloud from Google Play

Model names from HP and large HP resellers, October 2026. Older Engage One units that came with Windows 10 IoT run MC-POS as they are; units still on Windows 7 / POSReady need Windows 10 or 11 first.

Printing bills from an HP Engage

HP Engage counters are usually set up with an 80 mm thermal receipt printer, a cash drawer and a scanner on the I/O ports. MC-POS prints ESC/POS to that printer like any Windows app:

  • USB — once the printer is installed in Windows (HP or Epson driver, or Generic / Text Only), choose it in MC-POS Settings → Printers and print a test bill.
  • Serial (COM) — install the printer maker's Windows driver on that port; then it appears in the Windows printer list like a USB printer.
  • Network — a LAN printer by IP address, usually for the kitchen.

The cash drawer on the printer opens through it (Open drawer in printer settings to test). A USB scanner types straight into the item box.

What you can run on an HP Engage

With MC-POS on it, an HP Engage stops being a bare terminal and runs the whole shop:

Billing & invoices

Barcode or touch billing, held bills, split payment, cash / card / UPI / credit, tax invoices, 80 mm and 58 mm receipts and A4 invoices, sales returns and refunds.

Orders & tables

Take-away and dine-in orders, tables and floors, KOT printing to the kitchen, split payment, service charge and tips, QR menu ordering (Restaurant plan).

Purchases & suppliers

Purchase orders, goods receipt, purchase returns, landed cost, supplier dues and payments — so your cost price and profit are real, not guessed.

Stock & inventory

Batches and expiry, variants and units, racks, multi-warehouse stock, transfers, adjustments, stock value and a full stock ledger.

Accounting built in

Every bill posts itself: ledgers, journal, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash drawer, bank accounts, expenses and fiscal-year close.

Staff & HR

User roles and permissions per counter, shifts and attendance, salary, payouts, commissions and an employee self-service app (Advanced plan).

Tax & e-invoicing

GST / VAT with inclusive or exclusive prices, tax breakdown on the bill, Saudi ZATCA and UAE VAT e-invoicing with QR (Advanced plan).

AI that works for you

Ask your data a question in plain English, AI sales insights and stock alerts, AI-written WhatsApp and campaign messages, AI reports you can export (add-on).

The same business also opens on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, macOS and the web — so the owner can watch every counter from anywhere. See everything in MC-POS Cloud.

Touch or keyboard — both on the same Engage

The Engage One and Engage One Pro have bright touch screens, so the touch layout — product tiles, quantity pop-up, big payment buttons — is the natural fit. Cashiers who prefer the keyboard tap Desktop billing for an entry row and F-keys (F3 item, F4 discount, F9 checkout). The choice is saved per terminal.

Engage Go for line-busting

The Engage Go detaches from its dock, so staff can bill a queue or a table and drop it back on the counter. MC-POS keeps the bill on the device and syncs it with the counter terminals and the owner's phone.

The Engage One Prime runs Android, so install MC-POS Cloud from Google Play on it. Everything else is the same.

My HP Engage has Windows IoT and no Microsoft Store. How do I install MC-POS?
