POS billing software for Mac
Plenty of boutiques, cafés, salons and studios run on a Mac, and most POS software forgets them or sends them to a browser tab. MC-POS Cloud has a real macOS app: billing and invoices, stock, purchases, accounting, staff, e-invoicing and AI insights, printing to your receipt printer and working with no internet.
Quick answer
Yes — MC-POS Cloud has a native app for macOS, built separately for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and newer) and for Intel Macs. Download the right one from the MC-POS download page, open the .dmg and drag MC-POS Cloud into Applications.
It prints to USB, Bluetooth and network thermal printers, keeps bills on the Mac when the internet drops, and shares one business with your iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows tills.
How to install MC-POS on a Mac
- Install the app. Download the .dmg for your Mac — Apple Silicon or Intel — from the MC-POS download page, open it and drag MC-POS Cloud into Applications.
- Create your business. Sign up free inside the app, or on mcpos.mycodlabs.com, and add your products, taxes and outlet.
- Pick the printer. Settings → Printers. Choose a USB printer added in macOS, a paired Bluetooth printer, or type the IP of a network printer.
- Start billing. Scan or tap an item, take cash, card, UPI or credit, print or share the bill. The same business opens on every phone, tablet, terminal and computer you add.
MC-POS needs a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) or an Intel processor, macOS 12 or newer recommended, and about 1 GB free disk. It bills with no internet and syncs when the connection is back.
Mac devices that run MC-POS
Every Mac below runs MC-POS. The only thing to check is the chip, because Apple Silicon and Intel have separate downloads.
| Device | What it is | MC-POS on it |
|---|---|---|
| MacBook Air (M1 and newer) | Laptop | Counter billing that folds away at closing time |
| MacBook Pro (M1 and newer) | Laptop | Owner and accountant — reports, accounts and purchases |
| iMac (M1 and newer) | All-in-one desktop | A tidy front desk for boutiques, salons and studios |
| Mac mini (M1 and newer) | Small desktop | The cheapest Mac counter — add a monitor, scanner and printer |
| Mac Studio | Desktop | Head office — many branches and big reports |
| Intel Mac (macOS 12 or newer) | Laptop or desktop | Use the Intel download — same app, same features |
Printing bills from a Mac
MC-POS sends ESC/POS straight to 58 mm and 80 mm thermal printers — Epson TM-series, Xprinter, Rongta and the rest.
- USB — add the printer in System Settings → Printers & Scanners (a generic driver is fine), then pick it in MC-POS Settings → Printers.
- Bluetooth — pair the printer in System Settings → Bluetooth and choose it in MC-POS. Switch the printer on before you print; macOS does not wake a sleeping Bluetooth printer.
- Network — LAN or Wi-Fi printers by IP address (port 9100). The first time, macOS asks to let MC-POS find devices on your local network: say Allow. If you said no, turn it on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
A cash drawer on the receipt printer opens through it. A4 invoices go to any printer or to PDF, and barcode labels print from the Label Studio.
What you can run on a Mac
On a Mac, MC-POS is the till and the back office in one window:
Billing & invoices
Barcode or touch billing, held bills, split payment, cash / card / UPI / credit, tax invoices, 80 mm and 58 mm receipts and A4 invoices, sales returns and refunds.
Orders & tables
Take-away and dine-in orders, tables and floors, KOT printing to the kitchen, split payment, service charge and tips, QR menu ordering (Restaurant plan).
Purchases & suppliers
Purchase orders, goods receipt, purchase returns, landed cost, supplier dues and payments — so your cost price and profit are real, not guessed.
Stock & inventory
Batches and expiry, variants and units, racks, multi-warehouse stock, transfers, adjustments, stock value and a full stock ledger.
Accounting built in
Every bill posts itself: ledgers, journal, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash drawer, bank accounts, expenses and fiscal-year close.
Staff & HR
User roles and permissions per counter, shifts and attendance, salary, payouts, commissions and an employee self-service app (Advanced plan).
Tax & e-invoicing
GST / VAT with inclusive or exclusive prices, tax breakdown on the bill, Saudi ZATCA and UAE VAT e-invoicing with QR (Advanced plan).
AI that works for you
Ask your data a question in plain English, AI sales insights and stock alerts, AI-written WhatsApp and campaign messages, AI reports you can export (add-on).
The same business also opens on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, macOS and the web — so the owner can watch every counter from anywhere. See everything in MC-POS Cloud.
Keyboard billing on a Mac
Tap Desktop billing on the billing screen for the keyboard layout: one entry row (Item → Qty → Rate → Less, Enter between boxes), an editable grid, totals bottom right and F-keys — F2 customer, F3 item, F4 bill discount, F9 checkout. On a MacBook, hold fn for the F-keys, or set them as standard function keys in System Settings → Keyboard.
The Mac as the back office
A common setup: Android terminals or iPads on the counter, the owner's Mac in the office. The Mac opens the same business — purchases and goods receipt, supplier payments, the accounts, stock value, tax reports and AI insights — while the tills keep billing. Every staff member signs in with their own login and sees only what their role allows.
Works with no internet
The Mac app keeps your products, customers and today's bills on the Mac, so billing and printing carry on when the Wi-Fi drops, and everything syncs when it is back.
