POS app for Windows

POS billing software for Windows PCs and touch POS terminals

Most shops already have a Windows computer on the counter. MC-POS Cloud is a real Windows app, not a web page in a box: fast keyboard billing for the cashier who never touches the mouse, a touch layout for all-in-one POS terminals, and the whole back office behind it — invoices, stock, purchases, accounting, staff, e-invoicing and AI, working with or without internet.

Quick answer

Yes — MC-POS Cloud runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit), including the Windows 10 / 11 IoT Enterprise editions that most touch POS terminals ship with. Get it from the Microsoft Store, or download the .msi installer for machines that have no Store.

It prints to any USB, Bluetooth or network (LAN / Wi-Fi) thermal printer, opens the cash drawer through the printer, and takes USB barcode scanners straight into the item box. Bills are saved on the PC first, so a dropped internet line never stops the counter.

How to install MC-POS on a Windows PC

  1. Install the app. Get MC-POS Cloud from the Microsoft Store, or download the .msi installer from the MC-POS download page. Use the .msi on POS terminals with Windows IoT Enterprise — the Store is usually switched off there.
  2. Create your business. Sign up free inside the app, or on mcpos.mycodlabs.com, and add your products, taxes and outlet.
  3. Pick the printer. Settings → Printers. Choose a USB printer from the Windows printer list, a paired Bluetooth printer by its COM port, or type the IP of a network printer.
  4. Start billing. Scan or tap an item, take cash, card, UPI or credit, print or share the bill. The same business opens on every phone, tablet, terminal and computer you add.

MC-POS needs Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (Home, Pro or IoT Enterprise), 4 GB of RAM or more and about 1 GB free disk. It bills with no internet and syncs when the connection is back.

Windows devices that run MC-POS

MC-POS needs Windows, not a particular brand of computer. These are the Windows machines our customers bill on — tap one to jump to its row.

Device What it is MC-POS on it
Windows 11 desktop PC Desktop / tower Main counter with a USB scanner, 80 mm printer and cash drawer
Windows 10 desktop PC (64-bit) Desktop / tower Same as Windows 11 — no upgrade needed to start
Windows laptop Laptop Owner's back office — purchases, accounts, reports — or a counter that can move
All-in-one touch POS terminal 15" to 15.6" touch POS Touch billing at the counter — HP Engage, Posiflex, Elo, Toshiba, AURES, FEC, TVS-E and others
Microsoft Surface Pro / Surface Go Windows tablet Pop-up stalls, exhibitions and table-side orders
Mini PC with a touch monitor Small box PC Low-cost counter that saves desk space
Windows 10 / 11 IoT Enterprise terminal Locked-down POS edition Install with the .msi — the Store is usually switched off on IoT LTSC
Windows 7, POSReady 7 or Windows 8 terminal Older POS terminal Not supported — upgrade to Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) first

MC-POS is a 64-bit Windows app. 32-bit Windows, Windows 7, POSReady 7 and Windows 8 are not supported. Windows POS terminal brands have their own pages further down.

Printing bills from a Windows PC

MC-POS prints straight to thermal receipt printers in ESC/POS — the language almost every 58 mm and 80 mm POS printer speaks, from Epson TM-series to Xprinter, Rongta, TVS-E and Posiflex.

  • USB — install the printer in Windows as usual (the maker's driver, or the Generic / Text Only driver), then pick it in MC-POS Settings → Printers.
  • Bluetooth — pair the printer in Windows Bluetooth settings. Windows gives it a COM port, and MC-POS opens that port directly.
  • Network — LAN or Wi-Fi printers by IP address (port 9100). This is the usual choice for the kitchen printer.

A cash drawer plugged into the receipt printer (the RJ11 / RJ12 cable) opens through the printer — test it with Open drawer in printer settings. A4 tax invoices and statements go to any office printer or to PDF, and barcode labels print from the MC-POS Label Studio as bitmaps, so Arabic, Hindi and Malayalam names come out exactly as they look on screen.

What you can run on a Windows PC

On a Windows PC, MC-POS is the whole shop system, not just a till:

Billing & invoices

Barcode or touch billing, held bills, split payment, cash / card / UPI / credit, tax invoices, 80 mm and 58 mm receipts and A4 invoices, sales returns and refunds.

Orders & tables

Take-away and dine-in orders, tables and floors, KOT printing to the kitchen, split payment, service charge and tips, QR menu ordering (Restaurant plan).

Purchases & suppliers

Purchase orders, goods receipt, purchase returns, landed cost, supplier dues and payments — so your cost price and profit are real, not guessed.

Stock & inventory

Batches and expiry, variants and units, racks, multi-warehouse stock, transfers, adjustments, stock value and a full stock ledger.

Accounting built in

Every bill posts itself: ledgers, journal, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash drawer, bank accounts, expenses and fiscal-year close.

Staff & HR

User roles and permissions per counter, shifts and attendance, salary, payouts, commissions and an employee self-service app (Advanced plan).

Tax & e-invoicing

GST / VAT with inclusive or exclusive prices, tax breakdown on the bill, Saudi ZATCA and UAE VAT e-invoicing with QR (Advanced plan).

AI that works for you

Ask your data a question in plain English, AI sales insights and stock alerts, AI-written WhatsApp and campaign messages, AI reports you can export (add-on).

The same business also opens on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, macOS and the web — so the owner can watch every counter from anywhere. See everything in MC-POS Cloud.

Keyboard billing for fast counters

Many cashiers grew up on old DOS and Windows billing screens and are fastest on the keyboard. Tap Desktop billing on the billing screen and MC-POS switches to that shape: one entry row (Item → Qty → Rate → Less, Enter moves to the next box), an editable grid of lines, totals at the bottom right and a key bar along the bottom.

  • F2 customer  ·  F3 item  ·  F4 bill discount  ·  F6 extra charges  ·  F8 clear  ·  F9 checkout  ·  Esc back to item

A USB scanner types the barcode into the item box, so scan, scan, scan, F9 is a whole bill. The choice is saved on that computer only — the tablet on the shop floor keeps its touch layout. Touch layout switches back at any time.

Touch billing on all-in-one terminals

On a 15-inch touch POS terminal, the normal MC-POS layout is built for fingers: product tiles by category, a quantity pop-up, held bills, customer search and big payment buttons — cash, card, UPI, credit or a mix. Restaurants get tables, dine-in and take-away orders and KOT to the kitchen printer from the same screen.

No internet? Keep billing

MC-POS keeps a full copy of your shop on the PC — products, prices, customers, dues and today's bills. You can bill, print, take returns and close the day with the router switched off. When the PC is online again, everything syncs to the cloud and to your other tills: Android terminals, iPads, phones and Macs in the same business.

Cannot install anything? Use the web app

Some company PCs block new software. MC-POS also runs in Chrome or Edge at mcpos.mycodlabs.com, with the same business and the same reports. For receipt printers from the browser, the small MC-POS Print Bridge app (in the download list) passes bills to the USB, Bluetooth or network printer.

Windows POS software — frequently asked questions

Is there POS software for Windows 11?

Yes. MC-POS Cloud is a native Windows app for Windows 11 and Windows 10 (64-bit). Install it from the Microsoft Store or with the .msi installer from the MC-POS download page, sign up free and start billing.

Does MC-POS work on Windows 10?

Yes, on 64-bit Windows 10 — Home, Pro or IoT Enterprise. Most touch POS terminals sold in the last few years run Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, and MC-POS installs on them with the .msi installer.

Can I use MC-POS on Windows 7 or POSReady 7?

No. The Windows app needs Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Most POS terminals that came with Windows 7 or POSReady 7 can be upgraded to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise; after that MC-POS installs normally.

Is there free billing software for Windows PC?

MC-POS Cloud is free to start — create a business and bill without paying. Paid plans start at 36 US dollars a year for 2 users and add accounting, e-invoicing, HR, the online store and restaurant features.

Does the Windows POS software work offline?

Yes. Bills, returns and printing work with no internet. MC-POS saves everything on the PC and syncs to the cloud and your other devices when the connection is back.

Which receipt printers work with MC-POS on Windows?

Any ESC/POS thermal printer, 58 mm or 80 mm, over USB (installed in Windows), Bluetooth (its COM port) or the network (IP address, port 9100). Epson TM-series, Xprinter, Rongta, TVS-E and Posiflex printers are common choices. A cash drawer on the printer opens through it.

Can I use a barcode scanner with MC-POS on a PC?

Yes. A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works like a keyboard — scan into the item box and the item is added to the bill. Both the touch layout and Desktop billing take scans.

How do I install MC-POS on a POS terminal without the Microsoft Store?

Download the .msi installer from the MC-POS download page on mycodlabs.com, copy it to the terminal and run it. This is the normal way on Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC, where the Store is switched off.
