E-invoicing restaurant POS, KOT & waiter app · United Arab EmiratesA UAE restaurant POS that is ready for e-invoicing — with KOT printing and a waiter app
UAE e-invoicing arrives in 2027. Diner bills stay out of its scope; company invoices go through an Accredited Service Provider. MC-POS Cloud is built for both — on the same till that prints the KOT and takes orders from the waiter app.
Quick answer
Under the UAE's e-invoicing programme, B2B invoices — a company, hotel or caterer billing a VAT-registered buyer — must be exchanged through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and reported to the Federal Tax Authority: businesses with AED 50 million or more in revenue go live on 1 January 2027 and had to appoint their ASP by 30 October 2026; the rest follow from 1 July 2027. Bills to diners (B2C) are out of scope for now, so your dine-in and takeaway bills print as they do today — with 5% VAT and your TRN.
MC-POS Cloud prints the VAT bill in Arabic and English, and sends a company or catering invoice (and its credit note) to your ASP in the required format — MC-POS is not an ASP itself. On the floor it is a full restaurant POS: tables and floors, the KOT printed at each kitchen with Item, Note and Qty, orders taken on the waiter app, QR menu, split payment, service charge and tips, and billing that keeps going offline. It is in the Restaurant Full Suite plan; the law is in our UAE e-invoicing guide.

What a UAE restaurant needs — e-invoicing, VAT, kitchen and floor
Company invoices to your ASP
A catering or corporate order to a VAT-registered buyer is a full tax invoice with both TRNs. From 2027 MC-POS sends it, and any credit note, to your Accredited Service Provider.
Diner bills with 5% VAT
Dine-in and takeaway bills are simplified tax invoices with your TRN, printed in Arabic and English — out of e-invoicing scope, so nothing changes at the counter.
KOT to each kitchen
Each order prints at the right station with only that station's items, the cook's note and the table. Each kitchen printer has its own paper width and line feed.
Waiter app
Waiters take the order at the table on their phone, add rounds, send them to the kitchen and add an order note. The bill keeps the waiter's name for the waiter-wise report.
Tables and floors
See which tables are free, running or billed, floor by floor; move or merge rounds before billing.
QR menu ordering
Guests scan the table QR, see the menu and order; the order reaches the POS with a sound alert and prints its KOT.
Split payment, service charge, tips
Part cash and part card on one bill, a service charge line, and tips credited to the waiter.
Restaurant reports
Sales by table, by waiter and by kitchen, with every bill listed — on the till and on the web.
One business, every device: the counter, the owner's phone and the back-office computer share the same data — Android, iPhone, Windows, macOS and the web. See all MC-POS Cloud features.
UAE e-invoicing rules as they touch a restaurant
- Diner bills are B2C and out of scope of e-invoicing for now. Print them with 5% VAT and your TRN as usual.
- Company and catering invoices are B2B. They need a full tax invoice with both TRNs, and from the mandate date they must go through an Accredited Service Provider, which reports them to the FTA.
- Dates. AED 50M+ revenue: ASP appointed by 30 October 2026, live 1 January 2027. Everyone else: 1 July 2027. Dates have moved before — the UAE e-invoicing guide keeps the latest.
- MC-POS is not an ASP. It prepares the invoice and sends it to the ASP you appoint; you confirm the link once at setup.
- Menu prices can include VAT or add it on top; the bill shows the VAT either way.

A service with MC-POS
- Seat: open a table on the floor plan, or let the guests order from the table QR.
- Order: the waiter takes the order on the waiter app, adds a note for the kitchen, and sends it; the KOT prints at each station.
- Cook: the kitchen works the ticket — Item, Note, Qty — and the waiter adds more rounds any time.
- Pay: print the 5% VAT bill with your TRN, add service charge or a tip, take cash, card or split payment.
- Invoice a company: for a corporate or catering order, issue the tax invoice with the buyer's TRN — from 2027 it goes to your ASP.
- Close: the day-end report, and the Restaurant Report by table, waiter and kitchen.

Frequently asked questions
Do restaurant bills need e-invoicing in the UAE?
Not for diners. B2C bills are out of scope for now, so dine-in and takeaway bills print as usual with 5% VAT and your TRN. Invoices to VAT-registered buyers — catering, corporate orders — are B2B and must go through an Accredited Service Provider from the mandate date.
When does UAE e-invoicing start for restaurants?
Businesses with AED 50 million or more in revenue go live on 1 January 2027 (ASP appointed by 30 October 2026); everyone else from 1 July 2027. Only B2B invoices are in scope.
Is MC-POS an Accredited Service Provider?
No. MC-POS prepares your B2B invoices and credit notes in the required format and sends them to the ASP you appoint. You confirm the link once at setup.
How does the KOT work with the waiter app?
The waiter takes the order on the app and sends it; a KOT prints at each kitchen or bar with only that station's items, the note and the quantity. Extra rounds print as new tickets. Each kitchen printer has its own paper width and line feed setting.
Does the waiter's name stay on the bill?
Yes. The order carries the waiter who took it, and the bill keeps that name when it is settled at the counter — so the Restaurant Report shows sales by waiter.
Does the restaurant POS work offline in Dubai?
Yes. Billing, KOT printing and the waiter app on the local network keep working without internet; everything syncs when the connection returns.
Can I run branches in different emirates?
Yes. Each branch has its own tables, kitchens, tills and stock, and you see reports for one branch or all of them.
