FieldN feature — work orders

Work order management software from request to invoice

A request comes in by phone, email, the booking app or a complaint. It needs to become work, get done, and get billed — without falling through the cracks. FieldN tracks every step.

Quick answer

FieldN manages the full work order flow. A booking, a contract visit, a phone call, an email or a complaint becomes a work order with a number, category, priority, customer, property, asset and contract; the work order becomes one or more jobs for technicians or teams; statuses follow the flow you configure; and the finished work is invoiced, with labour and parts costed per job. See everything in FieldN.

What every work order carries

Requests from anywhere

Customer bookings, contract and maintenance-plan visits, phone calls, emails, complaints and the API all create work orders; service requests convert with one click.

Category and priority

Categories link to the right teams and skills; priority and urgency set the order of work.

Customer, property and asset

The site, the equipment and the contract that covers it are on the work order.

Status flows you set

Configure the statuses for work orders and jobs to match how your team works.

SLA timers

Complaints carry response and resolution timers with escalation.

Cost and billing

Job costing collects labour, parts and expenses; the invoice is raised from the work.

Three apps, one system: a booking portal and app for your customers, a technician app for Android and iPhone, and the office back end for dispatch, contracts, stock, invoices and HR. See all FieldN features.

From request to invoice

  1. Request: a building manager emails "no water pressure" on the 12th floor.
  2. Work order: the office logs it, sets category Plumbing and priority High, and links the building and the pump asset.
  3. Jobs: a plumber is dispatched; a second job is added for a pump specialist.
  4. Complete: both jobs close with photos and signatures; parts are logged.
  5. Bill: the invoice is raised, or the work is covered by the building's contract.

Work order management software — frequently asked questions

What is work order management software?

It turns requests into tracked work: who does it, where, on what equipment, by when, and what it cost. FieldN does this from the request to the invoice, with a technician app.

Can one work order have several jobs?

Yes. A work order can be split into jobs for different technicians or teams.

Can customers raise requests themselves?

Yes. Customers book in the booking app and raise complaints there or on WhatsApp; complaints can be turned into jobs.
