ZATCA accounting & VAT · Saudi Arabia

Accounting software for Saudi businesses, with ZATCA e-invoicing built in

Invoices that ZATCA accepts and books that balance — in one system. MC-POS Cloud turns every sale, purchase, return and payment into a journal entry, so your VAT report and your accounts are ready when you need them.

Quick answer

MC-POS Cloud combines ZATCA e-invoicing with full double-entry accounting. Every invoice is a ZATCA e-invoice — signed and reported, or cleared — and every sale, purchase, return, payment and stock movement posts to the general ledger on its own. You get a chart of accounts, manual journals, bank and cash registers, customer and supplier ledgers, profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance and a VAT report with output and input VAT for your return.

Accounting is on every paid plan; ZATCA e-invoicing is on the Advanced and Restaurant plans. The rules themselves are in our ZATCA Phase 2 guide.

What Saudi bookkeeping needs — and how MC-POS does it

Tax invoices ZATCA accepts

B2B tax invoices with the buyer's VAT number, CR number and national address, cleared by ZATCA before they go out.

Double-entry, done for you

Sales, purchases, returns, payments and stock adjustments each write their own journal entry. Add manual journals for anything else.

VAT you can file from

15% output VAT on sales and input VAT on purchases, discounts handled line by line, and a VAT report for your return on the ZATCA portal.

Credit and debit notes

Returns and price changes as credit and debit notes linked to the original invoice — filed with ZATCA and posted to the books.

Bank, cash and loans

Bank and cash registers, card sales landing in the bank, deposits and transfers, and loans with their repayments.

Customer and supplier ledgers

What each customer owes and what you owe each supplier, with part payments, advances and statements.

Statements on any day

Profit and loss, balance sheet and trial balance, always in step with your sales and purchases.

Billing and accounts in one

The same system runs your counter and your invoices, so nothing is exported or typed twice.

One business, every device: the counter, the owner's phone and the back-office computer share the same data — Android, iPhone, Windows, macOS and the web. See all MC-POS Cloud features.

The rules that matter for your books in Saudi Arabia

  • Invoices must be ZATCA e-invoices. Under Phase 2 your invoicing software must be connected to FATOORA — B2B invoices cleared, B2C invoices reported within 24 hours.
  • VAT returns: monthly if your taxable sales are above SAR 40 million, quarterly for everyone else. You file them on the ZATCA portal.
  • Credit and debit notes must point to the original invoice and go to ZATCA the same way as the invoice.
  • Keep your records — invoices and books — for at least six years.
  • Zakat is a separate return. MC-POS gives your accountant the profit and loss and balance sheet, but it does not calculate Zakat or file the Zakat return.

  1. Sell or invoice: every bill is a ZATCA e-invoice and a journal entry at the same time.
  2. Buy: enter supplier bills with input VAT, and pay them from the bank or cash.
  3. Collect: record customer payments against their invoices, and see who still owes you.
  4. Close the period: check the trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet, and take the VAT report figures to your return on the ZATCA portal.

Frequently asked questions

Is MC-POS accounting software ZATCA compliant?

Yes. Invoices issued in MC-POS Cloud are ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoices: B2B tax invoices are cleared by ZATCA and B2C simplified invoices are reported within 24 hours. The same invoices post to your accounts automatically.

Does MC-POS prepare the VAT return?

MC-POS gives you a VAT report with your sales, output VAT, purchases and input VAT for the period. You file the return on the ZATCA portal using those figures.

Does MC-POS calculate Zakat?

No. MC-POS gives your accountant the profit and loss and balance sheet, but it does not calculate Zakat or file the Zakat return.

Can I use MC-POS only for invoices and accounts, without a POS counter?

Yes. Make quotations, sales orders and tax invoices from the web or desktop app, and record purchases, expenses and payments. The POS screen is there when you need it.

Is the software in Arabic?

Yes. MC-POS has Arabic and English screens, and invoices print with Arabic and English titles and labels.

Can my accountant work in the same books?

Yes. Add your accountant as a user with the access they need. They see the same ledgers and reports from any device.
