The accounting date

MCPOS stamps documents with a business day you control, which is not always today. This matters when you trade past midnight.

Steps

  1. Find the badge

The current accounting date sits in the top bar. If it is not today, it is shown clearly so nobody rings up a sale into the wrong day by accident.

  2. Change it

Click the badge and pick a date. It stays set for you, on this browser, until you change it back.

  3. What it affects

Sales and returns taken from the POS screen are stamped with it, and so is the day their accounting entries fall into.

Good to know

  • A restaurant that closes at 2am usually wants the whole night on one business day. Set the accounting date once at the start of the shift.
  • Remember to set it back. A date left in the past quietly sends the next day's trade into yesterday.
