The accounting date
MCPOS stamps documents with a business day you control, which is not always today. This matters when you trade past midnight.
Steps
-
Find the badge
The current accounting date sits in the top bar. If it is not today, it is shown clearly so nobody rings up a sale into the wrong day by accident.
-
Change it
Click the badge and pick a date. It stays set for you, on this browser, until you change it back.
-
What it affects
Sales and returns taken from the POS screen are stamped with it, and so is the day their accounting entries fall into.
Good to know
- A restaurant that closes at 2am usually wants the whole night on one business day. Set the accounting date once at the start of the shift.
- Remember to set it back. A date left in the past quietly sends the next day's trade into yesterday.
