Categories

Categories group your products for the POS grid, for reports and for your online store. Set them up before loading products.

Steps

1. Open it

   Catalog → Categories.

2. Add a category

   Name it the way your staff speak, not the way an accountant would. The POS grid shows these names to a cashier under pressure.

3. Nest where it helps

   A category can sit under a parent. Keep it shallow — two levels is almost always enough.

4. Add an image

   Used on the POS category strip and on the online store.

5. Reorder

   Put your busiest categories first. It saves a tap on every sale.

Good to know

• A few sample categories are created when you sign up. Rename or delete them.
• A product can belong to more than one category.
