Importing your data

Load products, customers and opening stock from a spreadsheet instead of typing them in.

Steps

1. Open it

   My Business → Import Data.

2. Download the template

   Use the supplied template for the type you are importing. The column names must match.

3. Fill it in

   Keep SKUs unique. Leave a cell empty rather than writing "N/A" — empty means "use the default".

4. Upload and review

   MCPOS shows you what it read and flags rows it cannot accept before anything is written.

5. Confirm

   Only then are the records created.

Good to know

• Set up categories, units and tax rates first. Importing products that reference a category you have not created yet will fail those rows.
• Import ten rows as a test before importing ten thousand.
