Taking payment

Cash, card, wallet, credit or a split across several. What you choose here decides which accounts move.

Steps

  1. Pick the method

The tender buttons come from your Payment Methods list, so they are the ones your shop actually accepts.

  2. Cash

Enter what the customer handed over and MCPOS shows the change. The money goes into the cash drawer.

  3. Card or wallet

Enter the amount and any reference. It settles to the bank account you attached to that method.

  4. Split a payment

Add more than one tender line — part cash, part card. The sale is not complete until they add up to the total.

  5. Sell on credit

Choose the credit tender. No money moves; the amount becomes a receivable against that customer and is collected later.

  6. Complete and print

The invoice is created, stock comes down, and the accounting entry is written. Print or share the receipt if the customer wants one.

Good to know

  • Credit means no money changed hands. If the drawer count is over and the books are not, look for a sale that should have been credit.
  • A card sale shows up on the bank screen, not the cash drawer. That is by design.
