Turn on restaurant mode

One switch adds tables, kitchens, kitchen tickets and the waiter app to MC-POS. Everything you already use — products, taxes, payments, accounts — stays the same.

Steps

  1. On the web

Business Details → Restaurant Features. Turn it on and save. The Restaurant section (Tables, Kitchens, Food Types) appears in the left menu, and the restaurant reports appear under Reports.

  2. On the app

My Business → Settings → Restaurant POS. The home screen gains the Live Orders, Kitchen Display and Waiter tiles, and Settings gains a Restaurant section.

  3. Choose how orders reach the till

Under the same switch: Ask for table prompts for a table on invoices and orders (skippable for takeaway). Online table orders (QR) opens the orders diners place from the table QR as table orders. Auto send online orders to kitchen prints them at once — when it is off, they wait as NOT SENT until a staff member sends them.

  4. Turn on the waiter server

Waiter Order Server lets waiter phones and tablets connect to this till over Wi-Fi. See "Set up the waiter app".

Good to know

  • On the app, a business whose type is a restaurant or café gets Restaurant POS switched on by itself.
  • Restaurant transport mode decides how waiter and kitchen devices reach this till: over the restaurant's Wi-Fi (a phone hotspot works), or through the internet when each device signs in to the business.
