Units of measure

Pieces, kilograms, boxes, litres. Units decide how stock is counted and how a price is read.

Steps

1. Open it

   Catalog → Units.

2. Check the seeded list

   Common units already exist from sign-up. Add only what is missing.

3. Set up a conversion

   If you buy in boxes and sell in pieces, define the box as a multiple of the piece. Stock is always held in the base unit.

4. Attach units to a product

   Units are chosen on the product, not globally. One product can be sold by piece and by box at different prices.

Good to know

• Stock is stored in the base unit no matter which unit you sell in, so your stock reports stay comparable.
