Variants

Sizes, colours and flavours. In MCPOS a variant is a separate sellable item with its own barcode, price and stock.

Steps

  1. Open it

    Catalog → Variants.

  2. Define the attribute

Size, colour, or whatever varies, and its values.

  3. Generate the variants

MCPOS creates one sellable item per combination.

  4. Give each one its own barcode and price

A large may cost more than a small. Each variant carries its own price and its own stock count.

Good to know

  • Because a variant is a real sellable item, it has its own stock level. Do not expect the parent product to carry the total.
  • Scan a variant barcode at the POS and the right one is added — the cashier is never asked to choose.
