What MCPOS is

MCPOS is two things that stay in step with each other: a cloud back office you open in a browser, and a till app that keeps working when the internet does not.

Steps

  1. The cloud back office

This is where you set up products, prices and tax, and where you read your reports and accounts. It runs in any modern browser on a laptop, desktop or tablet. Nothing to install.

  2. The till app

This is what your counter staff use. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows and Linux from a single codebase, so every platform behaves the same. It holds its own copy of your products and customers, so it can keep billing through an internet cut and send everything up once the connection returns.

  3. One business, many terminals

Every till you register belongs to the same business. A sale rung up on any of them lands in the same reports and the same accounts.

  4. Accounting is not a separate job

You do not post journals for ordinary trading. A sale, a purchase, a refund, an expense — each one writes its own double-entry as it happens, so the trial balance is always current.

Good to know

  • If you only ever use the browser, MCPOS is a complete POS on its own. The till app is optional.
  • Everything in this guide that says "go to X" means the left menu of the cloud back office unless it says "on the app".
