MCPOS vs Loyverse: which free POS is better in 2026?

By Yoonus C, founder of My Code Labs (makers of MCPOS)  ·  Facts checked  ·  6 min read

Quick answer

Loyverse is a good free POS for a single phone or tablet shop that only needs billing, simple stock and loyalty. MCPOS Cloud is the better pick if you also want built-in accounting, Saudi ZATCA or UAE VAT e-invoicing, desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, or full offline billing including refunds.

Loyverse charges its paid add-ons per store or per employee each month. MCPOS charges one price per user per year, from $26, with all basic modules included.

Price: monthly add-ons vs one yearly price

Loyverse is free to start and stays free for basic billing. Costs come from add-ons, each billed monthly: $25 per store for Advanced Inventory, $5 per employee for Employee Management and $9 per store for unlimited sales history (yearly billing is a little cheaper).

Example: one shop with 3 staff that wants all three add-ons pays about $25 + $15 + $9 = $49 per month, or around $490 a year on yearly billing.

MCPOS is priced per user per year. The same shop with 3 users on the Essentials plan pays 3 × $26 = $78 per year, with inventory, purchases and accounting included. See MCPOS pricing.

Offline billing

Both apps keep selling when the internet goes down. The difference is what else still works. Loyverse's own help page says refunds and adding or editing customers are not available offline. MCPOS is built offline-first: billing, returns and customers all work on the device and sync later.

Accounting and e-invoicing

Loyverse focuses on the till and connects to other tools for accounting. MCPOS includes full accounting — ledgers, cash and bank, payables and receivables, profit and loss — in the same system as the POS, so there is nothing to connect.

For businesses in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, MCPOS has ZATCA and UAE VAT e-invoicing built in on the Advanced plan. Loyverse does not list e-invoicing on its pricing page, so check with them if you need it.

Devices

Loyverse runs on phones and tablets, with the back office in a browser. MCPOS has native apps for Android and iOS and also for Windows, macOS and Linux — useful if your counter uses a PC or a Windows POS terminal. The Windows app is on the Microsoft Store.
